At Laerskool Mw De Wet Primary our qualified educators strive to reach high levels of academic results. We follow and implement policies to help our learners reach their academic goals. We do not just award our academic goals but we believe in each individual learner and support them to reach their full capacity.
Our Learners take part in various Eisteddfod competitions where they take part in District and provincial rounds. They receive school colours and take part in the greater Gauteng competition. We also participate in public speaking and proceed to participate in the ATKV public speaking competitions.
Cultural activities offered:
Learning in Visual arts involves students creating and appreciating arts in various forms. Learners possess fine qualities when it comes to imagination and art this extra-curricular activity has been especially coordinated to develop learners in the following ways. Learners will engage in activities such as pencil art in the form on sketching. Art in the form of painting and the mixing of colours and textures. Learners will understand how to use water colours, acrylics oil and tempura paints where best suited in an art piece. Learners will be taught how to identify and shape drawings from 2D into 3D using various styles and techniques. Learners will also do art appreciation activities and learn more about great artists their contributions to the world of art at large. Learners will design and create in 3D using items like playdough or natural materials. Art is a master skill that not only brings joy to young learners but opens the possibility of creativity.
